Kereru - Term 4 Week 9 2023

Liz Whitehead —

And that is almost a wrap. It has been an up and down week in Kereru with lots of very tired young people.

We have had a lot happening with swimming every morning, finishing off testing, tamariki working on the Leavers Dinner and getting things sorted out for Prize Giving.

A massive thank you to everyone who made the Leavers Dinner happen.  Special mention to Iris and Macey who came up the ideas and plan and to Karmen who helped them out.  Also a special thank you to Kobee and Annika who agreed to perform with me on the night and to help out when needed.  To all the parents, staff and board who came to celebrate the year 8 Leavers, thank you, it means a lot to all of the students that you took time out to be with them.

We have a few things coming u next week with the Year 8 Big Day Out and Year 6 and 7 day of Ki - o - rahi with Active Southland at St Patrick's.  We also look forward to Prizegiving on wednesday evening in the town hall.

This is my last newsletter and I want to thank everybody that has helped at school in anyway.  Thank you for welcoming me into your community and supporting me as I gained my full registration and got to experience so much in a small rural school.  I will never forget the people I have met here and wish everybody all the best for their ongoing educational journeys.
