Kereru - Term 3 week 3
It has been a busy and mixed week this week.
We have had a significant period of time this week completing our speeches. Almost everyone is now ready with their speech on cards and having video themselves presenting the speech, made some tweaks and are ready to go on Monday.
We have also spent time putting together our logos and packaging for our popcorn design project. A huge thanks to the PTA who helped with the different packaging products we have used as part of their classroom contributions. Students have designed logos and chosen flavours they are going to try. Friday is the day we pop the kernels and mix the flavours. it will be interesting to see how they all pan out, with everything from butter and chilli flakes to maple syrup, sherbert and water drops.
We spent a bit of time talking about and sharing how the way we speak to each other and names we have been calling people have impacted others. We talked about thinking before we speak to others and making sure that when we might be angry or frustrated we need to stop before we act. We are aiming to be kind, honest and positive in the way we engage with each other so everyone feels included.
Sport has been a big part of the week, with Basketball tournamnet on Wednesday and tamariki playing semis and final games of their winter sports this week.
We hope everyone has a good weekend and I look forward to seeing some of you at learning conferences. If you haven't made a time yet please do so through HERO or make contact with me and we can arrange a time.
Nga mihi
