The Year 7/8 Dodgeball tournament held between teams from Te Aratai College and Te Waka Unua School was a day filled with adrenaline, teamwork, and pure sportsmanship.

Organised by the dedicated Steve Potter from Sports Kelly and generously funded through Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa and Sports Canterbury, this event brought together young athletes from both schools for a morning of exciting dodgeball action.

The tournament saw students from Te Aratai College and Te Waka Unua School competing against each other in an electrifying dodgeball showdown. With every throw, dodge, and catch, these young athletes showcased their determination, skill, and team spirit.

The tournament adopted a round-robin format, ensuring that each team had the opportunity to face off against one another. It also encouraged the development of camaraderie among the students, as they cheered for their peers regardless of the school they represented. 

One of the highlights of the tournament was the extraordinary display of sportsmanship exhibited by both Te Aratai College and Te Waka Unua School. After a series of intense matches, it all came down to the final showdown. Both Te Aratai College teams found themselves facing each other in the championship match. Although Te Aratai College emerged victorious in the end, Te Waka Unua School's B team showed exceptional skill and teamwork to secure the second-place position. Their remarkable journey to the finals demonstrated the impressive talent pool at Te Waka Unua School, and they left the tournament with their heads held high.
