EPRO8

Bridget Kemp —

Wow, what an amazing experience this is for students.

On Thursday 1st of July, Tauhara took two teams of 4 to compete in the EPRO8 competition held at Saint Paul’s Collegiate. On arrival the students were given time to look over the equipment at their station, however, the challenges were pinned shut so no one could have an advantage. Following this the organiser gave a briefing on how to work the electronics to complete the challenges. These are not a part of the equipment we had at school to practice with. Then at 9:30am the clock started counting down the two and a half hours the competitors were given to complete as many challenges as possible to earn the most points to win.

Our teams;

Indecisive: Ari Pepper, Ezra Apiti, Cadence Goodhead and Cullan Whiltsher

Brute Force and Ignorance: Kane Harris, Lizzy Bell, Mikayla Turley and Justin Schur

Both teams chose to complete the Burglar Alarm challenge first, gaining points as they completed each section of the challenge. Following this, they then began working on tasks from the Paint the Hall. As you can see from the images they were not easy tasks.

Both teams work extremely well as a team, collaborating and then working together as a team to complete each task. They represented our school very well and can be really proud of their effort and achievements. Both teams finished 5th equal.
