School Based Examinations 2022

Information for students and whanau

Purpose: generate evidence towards derived grades for NCEA and to practice conditions for external examinations.

  • All students are expected to go to their examination and to attempt all of the papers that are offered as per course outline or given out by their teacher. The exam location is the Hall.

  • Morning slot is 9am-12noon and afternoon slot is 1pm- 3pm.

  • Attendance is taken in the first 10 min of the exam and a phone call will be made home if a student is absent to arrange for a catch up time which will be the next available slot.

  • Normal timetable will apply during this time - no change to learning times. Students will go to their timetabled classes after their exam. Students do not have study leave and teachers will be teaching their regular classes.

  • NCEA examination rules will apply:

  • No communication with any other students whatsoever - no looking, no gestures

  • Drink bottle must be clear

  • Calculators must be cleared

  • Clear plastic bag for stationary such as pens and rulers

  • No phones, no wrist watches, no twink, no pencils, no own paper, no electronic devices

  • All students must wear school uniform

  • If a student is more than 30 minutes late they will not be allowed in

  • No one is allowed to leave, or have a toilet break, in the first 45 min or in the last 15 min.
