NCEA Exams and Exam Leave

Ben Hancock —

NCEA exams begin on Monday 7th November. This is an important time of the year for our senior students and these exams signal the culmination of a year's worth of learning and effort.

We will be running revision sessions for students leading up to these exams. Supporting students as they progress through their exams is important, each student has a different approach and experience with exams, having whanau and staff behind supporting students is vital to their success.

The exam timetable can be found online at https://www.nzqa.govt.nz/ncea/ncea-exams-and-portfolios/external/national-secondary-examinations-timetable/

Students have been given their exam entry information already. If they require further information they can see Mr Mutch and he will be able to assist with their needs.

NCEA exam leave for Years 11, 12 & 13 Students

When the exams begin on 7th November we will be running an altered program to support senior student achievement.

We will have a number of students (in year 11, 12, & 13) that will be allowed to leave on study leave (do not have to attend school). These students will need to have already achieved their NCEA for the year. These students will need to apply for study leave.

All senior classes will still follow their timetable, this means that all students will have access to their classroom teachers for additional support and preparation for their external exams as well as catch up sessions. All revision material will be available online via their google classroom as well.

Students who want to apply for Study leave need to complete this form and return it (hard copy to their Dean for initial approval, this will then have final approval from Senior leadership.

Students who have not achieved their level will need to stay at school and continue their learning programs. This will include resubmissions and further learning opportunities. This is done to ensure that they have the best chance to achieve their qualification.
