Kindai Online Exchange

Setsuko Sawada —

Around 350 students from Kindai High School and Tauhara College had our first Zoom cultural exchange on Monday, 15th March. After two years of separation due to the Covid pandemic, finally, the two schools reunited and it was nice to see many students and staff faces on screen. The event started with the Principals’ greetings from Mr Nakagawa and Mr Hancock. It was a valuable opportunity for the students to exchange cultural presentations and videos which they started preparing in November last year. The Year 11 and 12 Japanese students represented Tauhara College really well showing their courage, commitment and care. KAHOOT NZ cultural quiz for Kindai was one of the highlights of the event which the participants enjoyed. It was fantastic that many people made an effort to speak three languages; English, Japanese, and Māori at the event, showing their courage and care.
