Thank you for making 2018 another successful year at Tauhara College

Keith Buntting —

It is incredible to think that 2018 is now gently coming to an end, but what a great year its been!

In between looking ahead to 2019 and the many opportunities that the new year will hold, this is an ideal time to reflect back on everything that this year has held.

This is the final newsletter for the year and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the Tauhara College community for making 2018 such a successful year. Thank you for all the interesting insights, conversations, laughter, care, thoughtfulness and engagement in learning that you have all brought to the year.

This term in particular has been symbolic of all those moments that mark another successful year of learning, making the most of opportunities, celebrating successes, reaching goals and  gaining qualifications. Events have included another successful Sports Awards Evening, the Senior Academic Prize Giving, the Year 13 Leavers Dinner and now the Junior Academic Prize Giving. In all of these it has been inspiring to see our students being rewarded for their hard work, dedication, courage and commitment. It has also been so affirming to again see the numerous moments of care and appreciation that highlight that we are a school that goes well beyond just academic excellence!

So thank you to our students for the huge part that you have played this year in making this such a successful school. Thank you for getting involved in so many different ways, for making the most of all the opportunities, caring for each other, your teachers and your environment.

For all of you coming back next year, I am very much looking forward to seeing you again and watching you continue to shape the positive culture of Tauhara College. I am also looking forward to seeing you welcome our new Year 9 students into our school, making them feel welcome and connected to their place of learning and encouraging them to get involved in everything that the school offers.

To our students that are departing for new adventures, I wish you all the very best for the future. Especially to our outgoing Year 13's, thank you for going on this adventure with us and contributing so positively to our school. We look forward to hearing about your future successes and opportunities taken.

I wish you all a very relaxing, refreshing and enjoyable Christmas holiday. Stay safe, have fun.

See you in 2019!
