CACTUS 2021

Taupo Police —

CACTUS 2021 kicked off at 0555hrs on Monday 17th May with 25 Tauhara students, 2 Lake Taupo Christian School students and 2 hardcore teachers!

With the very generous support of the Taupo Football Club, CACTUS has a home base this year off site due to the water damage at the school. The club is a fantastic venue and we are truely grateful for their support. Two weeks are complete and the students have been exposed to fitness testing and some strict drill sessions. Guests / speakers have included Jonty Garlick (a Pilates instructor) and Nutritionist, Jo Davies.

Officer in charge of the programme, SGT Shane McNally says, “We are stoked to be able to bring CACTUS back to Tauhara College including a fresh contingent of Instructors. These Police staff bring a wide variety of skills including Military service and years of work in the fitness industry. This programme wouldn’t be possible without the support of our generous funders, Baytrust, Contact Energy and the Alterno Foundation” To keep up to date with these students 8 week Journey, you can find us on our Blue Light Taupo Facebook page. We post weekly updates.

Wishing all students the best as they navigate this Intense programme culminating in the longest day at the end of the term!HOORAH
