Loves-Me-Not Programme - Hauora Week 2021

Pamela Carmichael —

What a great end to the Loves-Me-Not programme; the sun was shining and there was a pleasing turnout by students and staff.

Even with all the disruptions this year, our Loves-Me-Not Team was determined to design some activities for the whole school to get involved in. Hauora Week was the ideal opportunity.

We ran an activity day where students were asked to wear a white accessory as a stand against family violence and take part in a number of events at lunchtime. These events were designed to raise awareness about trust, respectful communication and positive reinforcement of each other. There was a three-legged balloon challenge and a post-it board where students had the opportunity to write affirming comments for their peers. Goodie bags with positive messages were also handed out to those students who were wearing a white accessory.
