Julie Yeoman —

The Board met mid October and were delighted to hear from our new Tumuaki - Ben Hancock - on his early reflections of our kura and some initiatives he has underway. As always, the focus of our meeting was ensuring that all our students are progressing towards meeting their education goals for 2020. We were assured that plans are in place with Deans working closely with students. Our final meeting for the year is 30 November where we finalise our Annual Plan and resourcing for 2021. We encourage you to cast your vote for our mid-term elections, we have seven community members standing for three Board Member positions. The new Board will take office on December 11.
The Board acknowledge the loyal, long-term service of Ross Kirkwood, Sue and Allan Goldsmith and Donna Vanner to our school. We are fortunate to have had their depth and breadth of commitment to the pursuit of education and extra-curricular activities for our students.
Finally, we retain Chris Hipkins as the Minister of Education, we hope that there will be some traction in progressive education for our rangatahi in a far more settled environment that what 2020 has presented us to date.
