Phil McCreery —

Kia Ora Whanau,

Welcome to the start of Term 2. It was great to hear the progress that the country has made and to see the country moving into Alert Level 3. This has been a difficult time for us all but it would seem that the sacrifices many have made have been rewarded.

Under Alert Level 3 the present situation will remain in place for the vast majority of our students. They will continue to work from home and they will continue to receive online courses. The main difference for Alert level 3 is that parents returning to the workforce who cannot provide supervision for their children have the option of sending Year 9 and 10 students to school. You will be receiving an email outlining the present situation, the eligibility for students returning to school and providing you with the opportunity to register students if they need supervision. Classes for these students will start as of Wednesday 29th April. (Copy of email attached)

Student engagement is vital if we are to maintain progress and congratulations must go to those who have made the most of this situation. There are however a significant number of students who have yet to engage and I would ask you to check with your children to ensure that they are completing their studies. Talk to them about their progress, ask if they have contacted their teacher and have them show you the work that they have been completing. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

It would appear that we will be in the present situation for at least two and a half weeks, but I will keep you informed of any developments as they occur.
