Alana Pointon is competing in the Performing Arts Competitions Association New Zealand (PACANZ) this weekend in Palmerston North in the Solo Modern Dance section. To qualify for this competition, dancers need to be nominated at a regional competition, and the dance section alternates between ballet and modern styles each year. There are 130 solo finalists competing this weekend from around New Zealand. Dancers will perform 2 choreographed dances and participate in a Master Class with the adjudicators. Semi-finalists will be chosen after these dances, the dancers will perform again and 10 finalists will be selected to perform again for the winning place. Alana is also competing with her studio group in the groups section. We wish you well Alana!
