Term 1 2022

Over Term One our Tauhara student body were offered a variety of lunchtime activities to keep them busy and motivated. Tuesday saw the student executive offer activities based around the arts, brains & culture. Quizzes, board, and card games, debates & more were taken up by almost 100 students over the term. Several Gutter Boards were designed & built by our Trades students for use at lunchtimes and will be available during all breaks throughout the year. Handball courts were painted and made available for all to use. The Friday sports challenge was Back-yard cricket and was highly enjoyable and close to 200 students got involved. Many thanks to Michael from Northern Districts Cricket for training us and providing equipment and prizes for our final prize giving.

Overall, 417 students of our approximately 700 student body participated in these lunchtime activities, and our student executive was highly instrumental in developing and presenting these popular events. It is with much admiration and thanks to these 12 super-leaders for their commitment and enthusiasm for our programme. Term 2 will see the Tuesday ABC’s continue with more activities including a Kahoot Challenge, the Friday sports will include Ultimate Frisbee for weeks 1-5 & 5 A-side Football in weeks 6-10. Other challenges will be introduced as the term progresses.
