CACTUS 2023
What an awesome way to conclude CACTUS 2023 with students from Tauhara College.
This longest day was epic, commencing Wednesday at 4pm, starting with a defence force PT session, dinner, speeches , movie, bed at 0200, up at 0215, 40minute bodyweight workout with our buddy Aaron Perry from PEAK Strength, then up our Maunga Tauhara , back to the club for breakfast and a quick change into rafting gear. Down to the mighty Waikato River for a raft building session and then race down to Hipapatua Reserve (Reid’s Farm) , quick change , rope run back via Red Woods where students were met with the some awesome students from Tauhara College performing an inspiring haka, back up to the lookout for some gnarly sprints and primal movements up the grass bank, then off to Trev Terry Marine for a change over to some logs and sandbags and a run up Spa Road back to the Taupo Hockey Turf for a quick lunch and a sandbag lunging session, a squad run back to Tauhara College where the students were met by their school mates and a FIRE ENGINE to be pulled around the grass 400m track on the rear field!!
PHEW!!!
Another amazing haka from the college students sending the CACTI on their way to graduation!
Amazingly , they scrubbed up well; stayed awake and celebrated their success.
