The recipient of this award is a student of Maori descent who has achieved academic excellence and is aiming for tertiary education.

As a member of Ngati Maru from Hauraki, Laura has done her Iwi proud. Laura goes about her school day with quiet efficiency. She has consistently achieved at the highest level, gaining both NCEA Levels One and Two with Excellence, and is well on the way to achieving an endorsement at Level Three as well. Laura is planning on continuing her education at Victoria University to study Psychology Well done, Laura!
