• Absences from school should only be for sickness or important family matters such as bereavements or tangi.  
• Situations like family holidays and unavoidable events that students are required to attend should be requested from the Principal in advance.   Email Keith Buntting - bk@tauhara.school.nz
• If you child is absent, please phone the school on 07 3789304.
• If you are unable to phone the school, please send a note to your student's tutor teacher or the office on the day the student returns.  The note should name the student, give the reason for absence, the dates of absence, and have the legible signature of a parent or caregiver.  
• Students who are late to school after Tutor time must sign in at the office before going to class with either a note or a phone call to the office by parent/caregiver with a valid explanation. 
• Students who need to leave school during school time MUST provide a note or have a parent/caregiver phone the school prior to leaving.
