Matakatea and Tangiariki Wanikau returned from a 4 week trip to Japan in October performing Kapahaka in a ten member group at the RWC.The highlights for them were meeting Richie McCaw, performing with the band ‘Six60’ as well as mingling with the All Blacks at training sessions, attending the game against Canada and seeing their Koro on screen their.Not only did they benefit from the experience, performing over 30 times while there, they gained much knowledge from the other members of the group, seasoned Rotorua performers who have travelled to over 60 countries, completing Masters and PHD papers while over there.
