From the Board of Trustees

Julie Yeoman —

In June this year, a new Board was elected. Three Trustees were reappointed and three Trustees were new. Since this time, the Board has worked very hard to continue the implementation of systems and processes to ensure we are delivering a quality education for all students.

We have continued to monitor student achievement and progress that students are making in their learning, along with their greater pastoral care needs. The Board is satisfied that we are meeting all our legislative responsibilities and that together with the staff, we focus on what best meets the needs of our students.

Thus, it is with deep sadness that we say farewell to Mr Buntting. Keith came into our school as a first time Principal in July 2015. He has worked tirelessly and with endless commitment to deliver on his responsibility to manage our school. The role of Principal is a complex one and Keith has never shied away from what had to be done. He has led with exemplary diplomacy and qualities befitting of a natural leader. Keith has put our school on a positive trajectory - he has weaved all the threads of academia, staff management, finance, property and extra-curricular activity together, to create an environment where our students are able to enjoy success at the highest level, both in and out of school. We will miss him greatly and thank him for his service to Tauhara College. We wish Keith and his family all the very best for the next step in their adventurous journey. On a personal level, I feel very fortunate to have met Keith and worked with him, as we govern our school and travel along what is inevitably a bumpy ride due to the nature of education. Keith's integrity and moral compass has always kept us on track.

I would like to thank the previous and current Board of Trustees for their dedication and commitment to the task, Tauhara College is a better place for you all investing your time, skill and energy for the benefit of our students. To our community - wishing you all a safe and enjoyable festive season. We thank you for the hours you have given to walk alongside your students in their secondary school learning journey.
