Junior Speech Competition

Helen Edgecombe —

The students who qualified for this year's Junior Speech Competition are an exceptional group of speakers. Their enthusiasm and talent were on display recently in front of an appreciative audience of their peers and teachers.

Speaking on a range of topics; including the benefits of communism, their experience of lockdown, why you should follow Chris Hemsworth on social media (and why you shouldn't), they were all very entertaining and engaging. When giving the results the judges were very complimentary about the effort and skill which was exhibited.

The winner of the Year 9 competition was Harrison Pointon speaking on the importance of free speech. The winner of the Year 10 competition was Skye Barbour speaking on the value of siblings.
