Junior Girls Volleyball compete at the 2020 BOPSS Junior Champs

After starting a Junior Girls Volleyball team when we had returned from Lockdown we trained hard, learning and practicing the game inside out with the goal of attending the BOPSS Champs in Tauranga over three weekends.

We started as bottom seed #34. In that pool of four teams we had 6 wins 0 losses over two days which put us into the next pool up. We then had 5 wins and 1 loss, placing us 2nd in that pool which put us into playoffs for positions 17-24. Sadly, this was the highest we could go due to the draw restrictions. 

Unfortunately, we lost the first playoff game (only just) which put us in the playoff for 21-24. Two subsequent wins and we finished up placed 21st out of 34. Of a total of 14 games, we won 12. Not bad for a team solely made up of Year 9’s. 

They were all awesome and a pleasure to coach.
