TC Junior Ironman Competition Term 4, 2022

Steve McDonald —

With the 2022 New Zealand Ironman being postponed until mid-December this year, it seemed appropriate for our junior school to have the opportunity to compete in their own version of Ironman. Both the girls and boys participated in four various challenges from tyre rolling to gumboot throwing. Each event was timed, and overall girl and boy winners were found.

Thanks to the STEAM classes for their input into designing certificates and trophies for the winners and place getters. Two trophies were selected from the many designs submitted, and these winning trophies were 3D printed, and will be awarded at the Junior Prizegiving.

Thanks to the competitors and helpers who put themselves out there to make the first ever Tauhara College Junior Ironman Competition a success. Also, many thanks to Motortreads Tires, 70 Pihanga Street, for their kind donation of six used tyres.

Our seniors will have an opportunity in term one next year to compete for the Senior Ironman Competition, as we head towards the 2023 New Zealand Ironman Championships in early March.
