Careers News

Delwyn Roberts —

General

Some of our senior students have had big decisions to make this term, and I have thoroughly enjoyed helping them with this process. It is always very exciting when they share their plans for life after school, whether it be work or study.

If students are still needing help, please don’t hesitate to make an appointment by emailing Delwyn Roberts - dr@tauhara.school.nz.

A big thank you to all the students who have been using Career Central. We are sure you will find it a very useful tool to navigate the world of work, apprenticeships and tertiary study. If you haven’t as yet, please do, it is easy - cc.school.nz   If you need help, please ask any teacher or the Careers team.

Students that are interested in Toi Ohomai Trades Academy/Licence to Work or Gateway for 2022 - there will be meetings and some information coming out in the first week of next term - so please keep an eye out for that in the notices.

Trades Academy

Well done to all our dedicated Toi Ohomai trades students, we are almost there !

Tutors of these courses will be talking to students this week and informing them directly if they need to attend any catch up sessions next term. Please make sure you do this, as this will ensure you can gain all your credits.

Gateway

The last few students have been placed now and are enjoying the experience that these opportunities give them. Gateway is a great programme to help explore options whilst still at school. We thank all our supporting local businesses for their support.

Licence to Work

All students have work placements now and are doing really well. Forster Panelbeaters, CH Automotive Diesel & Marine, Seay Earthmovers, Taupo Towncentre HUB, Walk in Hair, RDA, The Salvation Army Shop and Go-Karts. Thank you to Sue, our Taupo Pathways facilitator for organising these placements. Keep up the good work students !

Happy holidays everybody, see you in Term 4.
