Julie Yeoman —

The Board met in July and conducted its usual set of business, which in many ways was a relief to return some sense of normality. In spite of the disruption of Covid 19, it was pleasing to see our school budget is on track and while we are always in need of extra resourcing, we can only control the funds we are allocated by the Government to the best of our ability. Special thanks to our staff for continuing to support our budget requirements. The property committee is taking charge of the extra funding given by the government at the beginning of the year to improve our school and we hope this will be visible to our students before the end of the year.We will be examining student progress and achievement in detail at our August meeting. It is vitally important that our students remain on track despite the lockdown disruption. We are grateful to our Deaning team who have worked closely with our NCEA students to ensure they understand how they are tracking and that they will meet their goals for the year. Our new Principal Ben Hancock has been in regular contact with staff and myself to assist in his transition to the role in term 4 and you may have even seen him in the school on the last day of term.Wishing you all a restful and rejuvenating holiday break. Keep well, stay safe and may we all get to thrive in a full and productive Term 3.
