Wilson Simmonds won the Bay of Plenty age group championship today at Ohope International golf course shooting a score of 71. He was 3 shots behind Tauranga’s Nathan Clark with 4 holes to play and went birdie, eagle, par, par and Nathan made an error on the 17th hole for Wilson to sneak home with a 1 shot victory over Nathan and 2 shots ahead of Waikato’s Jacob Bird. Wilson and Nathan have both been selected to represent Bay of Plenty at the Men’s Interprovincials which kick off next week in Ashburton.
