A truckload of plastic enters the oceans every minute. This equates to up to 12.7 million tonnes every year.

While our plastic usage is declining, a major part of the problem is being overlooked; the ever-popular plastic wrap. In almost every restaurant, home and bakery a roll of this handy but deadly wrap exists.

My name is Brooke Moore, and it is my pleasure to introduce you to WRAPT - an edible, allergy-friendly, biodegradable plastic wrap alternative! Wrapt strives to amplify the fun, flavour and colour of wrapped food while helping to save the earth. The product looks and feels identical to plastic wrap, but with a major difference. It's made from agar, a nutritious ingredient derived from seaweed which helps weight loss, bone health, brain health and digestion, to name a few.

Wrapt is available in Unflavoured, Raspberry and Green Herb flavours; there will be a Wrapt wrap to suit every set of taste buds. All Wrapt wraps are vegan, allergy-friendly and keto.

Don't wanna eat your wrap? Simply peel it off and dissolve in hot water, or allow it to naturally biodegrade!

Since January 2019, my brain has been a whirlwind of agar, sugar and water, combined with images of plastic-free beaches and happy animals that I hoped to make a reality. Four months of differing ingredient ratios has led me to Wrapt - and I am confident that with the correct guidance this product will revolutionise the future of food production and lunchbox packing.

One product which Wrapt will also be launching towards the end of 2019 are oat-based energy bars sealed with Wrapt. This means that hikers/mountain bikers/trampers can either eat the bar whole, or throw away the edible wrapper and let it naturally biodegrade (unless a hungry possum decides to have a nutritious snack!)
