A huge congratulations to our head girl, Grace Davies!

Jacinda Wilson —

Grace and our dance department have been awarded $4800 from the Peacocke Dance Trust, to showcase her incredible level 3 dance work, which is performed by 13 of our amazing dance students.
Grace’s work this year has been about incorporating the beauty and importance of Maori culture and values.

‘This years dance is a symbolisation of how when we value and enhance our sense of mana, that then creates a place of turangawaewae, where everyone belongs. “We are all equal. We are all the same, on the same level.” The dance recognises how when we take pride in our mana, we value each other and provide a place of turangawaewae for all.

This money will go towards holding a showcase at the Great Lake Centre (possibly at the end of September), where this work and others will be performed for the public. This work will then be filmed and shared around New Zealand.

A huge thank you to the Peacocke Dance trust for awarding this money. We are looking forward to hosting this trust group at the event!

More information to come soon!
