Career Central

Everyone can access this from anywhere and at any time. https://app.careercentral.school.nz/ log in as a student, select our school, and google account and then you should reach the home page.

All students will find something of use on this programme - there are lots of things to do.

All levels can explore ‘About Me’ and complete all the tasks if they haven’t already.

Then move onto ‘Jobs’ and job search by title or industry pathway.

For students that have no idea or need some more ideas, complete the Bullseye quiz. This will share with you how your interests, skills, subjects match with a particular pathway, and will form a list of pathways and jobs to explore, that you may not have even thought about.

If you are still wanting further activities to do try ‘Next steps’ to find out how well you match your saved jobs, set some goals, check your employability skills.

If at any point you get stuck, please contact us and we can help you navigate this programme.

Gateway

Gateway is busy at the moment, we have a lot of students out in the community on placement gaining experience. We are currently completing our final Health and Safety and First Aid course for the year. These courses have been fantastic for our students going out into the workforce. Can't wait to see what we get up to in term three.

Trades

Toi Ohomai trades courses are still running very well, and I am proud to say most students have fantastic attendance, and look to be well on track for passing the year and earning all the trades credits available to them. Well done. Special mention to all the Rotorua course students, who have committed to the early morning pick ups on these cold winter mornings.

Apprenticeships

For those looking for an apprenticeship, please come and tell us. At this time of the year some local businesses are contacting us for any students who could be interested - if we don’t know what you are thinking or what you are looking for, we can not help you.
