From a Year 10 student

A highlight of the Yr 10 students this term is the three day Waterskills camp at Whakaipo Bay. They go out in core classes to learn about making bread, making a shelter, building a raft and paddling on SUPs.

A group of Tauhara students and parents will be off to Japan on the 11th of April to experience Japanese culture first hand and develop their language skills during the school holidays. They are visiting a number of significant places such as Hiroshima, Miyajima, Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo and also attending Kindai High School at the end of the trip. The group would like to say thank you to the local businesses; The Warehouse, M21, Farmers Discount Meat, Sasakawa Foundation and Tauhara College PTA for their on-going and generous support for this trip.

A great way to start the year getting to know your teachers and classmates. Lessons in Tauharatanga, games with Yr13 students, sleeping in the Marae and spotlight around the school. All of these add up to a fun experience, and a feeling of belonging to the school.
