Over the next few weeks the Junior School are participating in the Firewise safety course.

This includes learning what to do in the event of a fire, what to do with tools that create fire and building knowledge.

They may bring home a request to create a safety plan or information regarding smoke alarms- this is all to help them build understanding and ensure that if the worst was to happen we would be confident that they would be able to get to safety quickly.

At the end of the unit the fire service will be reinforcing these crucial messages with a visit to our kura and allowing the tamariki to have a look at a fire truck too.
