Explore the story of Ngake me Whātaitai this school holidays; draw us a taniwha fit for an epic adventure.
Long before our ancestors arrived in Aotearoa, taniwha roamed the rivers, lakes and swamps carving many of the landmarks we know today. Some taniwha live in caves and others live right in the harbour of the capital city, Te Whanganui-a-Tara! Meet Ngake and Whātaitai, two determined taniwha on a quest to break through the clenched teeth of the fish of Māui.
To celebrate the launch of our new Māori language picture book, Ngake me Whātaitai, we’re giving away three copies to three imaginative tamariki! To win, send us a drawing of your taniwha with your age, name, school and a little bit about who your taniwha is. Explore the story of Ngake me Whātaitai this school holidays;
