WELCOME TO TAUHARA PRIMARY SCHOOL

"WHĀIA TE MĀTAURANGA – REACH FOR THE HIGHEST PEAK"

We are a Positive Behaviour for Learning school where staff are trained in strategies that support our students to positively manage their behaviour both in the classroom and the playground. Tauhara Primary School has a zero Tolerance to Violence and everyone follows our AROHA expectations and routines. All Children need the opportunity to reach their potential and teachers need the opportunity to teach to their potential.

At Tauhara we pride ourselves on working together in partnership with our parents and families, to provide quality education for our children in a caring and stimulating environment. We have a strong working relationship with our supportive Board of Trustees and active Parent Teacher Association. We have a Social Worker in School who works alongside students and parents to provide pastoral care and guidance. We actively participate in the Taupō Community of Learning working collaboratively with 12 other schools including Primary, Intermediate and Secondary schools in our area.

Our passionate teachers work alongside children to encourage them to develop their potential in all areas of the curriculum, particularly accelerated learning in Literacy and Mathematics.

We believe that supporting our children by learning through play in the Junior School is an important start to the learning journey at Tauhara Primary. We also have wonderful teacher aides who support teaching and learning programmes for our students during the school day. Our children enjoy learning in a settled and inclusive environment.

We have  Lunch in schools,  Life Education lessons and Religious Instruction are offered as part of our Health Curriculum programme. Our school is a Kiwi Sport school where our children are offered a range of sporting codes and taster sessions including swimming lessons at the local Aquatics Centre. Performing Arts is led by our specialist tutors with a focus on dance and Kapa Haka throughout the school.

Our students have opportunities to use a range of technologies in the classrooms, including iPads, laptops to enhance their learning and knowledge of the world around us. We use See-Saw to report student learning to our parents and school community.

We offer a unique “Whānau focused” education with all the resources required to ensure your child is given every opportunity to reach their potential during their time at Tauhara Primary School.
