Tranzit Bus Safety Message

Tauhara Primary —

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We would like to inform you that, as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the safety and security of our students during their bus ride, our school buses may be equipped with surveillance cameras. These cameras, if implemented, will serve as an additional measure to monitor and ensure a safe environment for our students while they travel to and from school.

The primary purpose of installing these cameras is to deter potential incidents and provide a visual record in case of any reported issues or concerns. The cameras will be strategically placed on the buses to capture the general area, with measures in place to respect the privacy of individual students. The recorded footage will be treated as confidential and will only be reviewed by authorized personnel for investigatory purposes or as required by law.

We also wish to remind you to ensure that your child consistently swipes on and off the school buses using their swipe cards. The "Swipe On and Off" procedure is essential for accurate records and the overall safety of our students should an incident occur. Please remind your child to carry their swipe card at all times when using the school bus service and to swipe it upon boarding and departing the bus.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the implementation of these cameras, please feel free to contact your school bus controller.
