Starting the year revisiting our WHY and building our team culture.

At Taumata School, our teaching and learning team are not just committed to your children; we are committed to our community and each other. Building a positive, shared culture, we stand united with clear expectations of our role and what success looks like.

Our learning coaches and leaders have been busy preparing for the new school year. We've introduced our new learning coaches to the way we do things around here, what makes our Taumata community unique and special and how they can add their own strengths and talents to our team.

On Tuesday our entire teaching and learning team gathered on-site to focus on the core aspects of our work. We revisited our school vision, the principles that underpin all we do, and the specific actions/expectations that are evident in our practices. After the more formalised focus, we dedicated the afternoon to team building, encouraging everyone to step out of their comfort zone and embrace new challenges in our 'Hika-a-te-awe' technology/creative space. The goal was shifted from a professional focus to fostering a deeper understanding of each team member and how they form the collective.  A big thank you to Sean, Sandi and Kathy for supporting our team to be uncomfortable in their creativity.
