As we find ourselves past the midway point of our first term, it's an opportune moment to reflect on the vibrant activity and accomplishments that characterise our school in recent weeks. Our children have been fully immersed in our localised curriculum concept of "Te Toka a Tirikawa," as we outlined in a previous newsletter.
Behind the scenes, our dedicated team has been hard at work gathering data to inform their teaching and learning programs. This ongoing effort ensures that our instruction remains dynamic, responsive, and evidence-based. We're proud to partner with Learning Matters, our structured literacy partners, who provide invaluable coaching that enhances our teaching practices and pedagogy, keeping them up-to-date with the latest research and methodologies.

In addition to our academic focus, our whānau ropu have been actively growing community connections and supporting fundraising initiatives, as detailed in the articles further in this newsletter - a wonderful afternoon was had by all at our recent Colour Run. Meanwhile, our board has been diligently finalising the strategic plan that will guide our focus for the years 2024 and 2025 - this can be found on our website.

Amidst all of this, our students have also participated in a range of extracurricular events, including Top Schools competitions, cluster competitions, Aims Games trials, and preparations for upcoming camp experiences. We've also welcomed a brand new cohort of learners and their whānau into our ever-growing Taumata whanau. It's worth noting that our school now stands as one of the largest primary schools in the Bay of Plenty, offering a unique opportunity to support learners from Year 1 to Year 8.

As we celebrate the many successes, and the busyness of the first half of term - I am ever reminded of the enthusiasm, excitement and eagerness of all our students as they front up each day to be active in their own learning journey.  Enjoy the newsletter and have a wonderful weekend.  Kia pai te panui, me te pai o te wiki!  Enjoy reading and have a great weekend.
