This week is Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa (Samoan Language week).

Samoan is New Zealand’s third most widely spoken language. To celebrate this, here are a couple of phrases you could try:

Talofa lava- Hello/ greetings

Malo- Hello/ well done

Tōfā soifua- Goodbye

Lelei tele- Very Good

Mālō lava- Very well done

Last week, we took 24 boys paintballing as a part of our Pasifika Brotherhood program. Senior students were paired with junior students to have a talanoa about life, school, and connecting to their culture. Big brothers imparted their wisdom to the little brothers.

It was an awesome day. The boys had food and played a few games to build connection and brotherhood.
