MR TURNER —

Kia ora koutou katoa

Thank you to those parents who took advantage of the parent-teacher interviews online.

The anecdotal feedback we have received has been positive. With the size of our school and the inevitable traffic issues, meeting online is a practical solution that can always be followed up with a face-to-face meeting if required.

Our school data shows that our attendance is still above our target of 85% across the school. As we enter the winter season I understand the temptation on wet and miserable days to stay home, but please remember the single thing you can do to enhance your academic outcomes is attend school and ACE it!

This is reflected in our mid-year academic analysis. When comparing this year's academic data to last year, more boys are achieving, and more boys are achieving at a merit or excellence level. One of the simplest explanations for this is less disruption, more focused work, and more boys attending classes.

Over 500 students across Years 10 to 13 completed their corequisite literacy and numeracy assessments last week. This is the first of the new assessment requirements for NCEA. We were impressed at how well the boys engaged with this process and look forward to sharing their results with you once the marking is complete.
