NZSS Football Hillsdene Junior Tournament

TBC —

The Junior A Football team capped off their season with a stellar performance at the recent NZSS Hillsdene tournament, securing a commendable 5th place finish.

The team's collective effort, passion, and strong sense of unity were on full display throughout the competition.

The tournament began with a challenging draw against Onehunga High Jnr XI, where the team showed resilience to hold their opponents to a 1-1 draw. This was followed by a commanding 8-1 victory over Gisborne Boys Jnr XI, setting a positive tone for the rest of the week.

The team's momentum continued on the second day, with a hard-fought 4-2 win against Mt Maunganui Jnr XI and a decisive 1-0 victory against Westlake Boys' Jnr XI (eventual tournament winners). Despite a narrow 1-2 loss to St Patricks Jnr XI in the quarter final, the team quickly rebounded with a solid 1-0 win against NPBHS Jnr XI and a fantastic 3-1 victory over Wellington College Jnr XI.

The team's success was built on a foundation of cohesion and determination, with every player contributing to the overall effort. A special mention must go to Mason Francis, who was rightfully named the Most Valuable Player for our team. His immense work ethic, consistent performance, and crucial goal-scoring ability were pivotal in the team's success.

The 5th-place finish at the NZSS Hillsdene tournament is a testament to the team's hard work and dedication throughout the season. Congratulations to all players and coaches on this fantastic achievement.
