Tall Poppies Maths Problem Solving
We are so proud of our Maths Problem solvers who participated in theTall Poppy Problem Solving Competition at Tauriko School.
Last Wednesday night, two teams of Tall Poppies competed against other schools in our cluster at the Maths Problem Solving competition at Tauriko School. Ben Rikiriki, Rylee van Dijk and Sierra Hopping participated against other Year 8s whilst our Year 7 team included Ella Wilford, Zeerak Riaz and Max Dreaneen.
The students had to solve a range of different Maths problems in a set timeframe and had to utilise many skills in order to complete these. We are very proud of our Tall Poppies who competed.
Rylee van Dijk - It was a bit annoying because we had be given the same question in class the day before and we couldn't remember the answer.
Ben Rikiriki - It was an exciting and fun challenge. We still found it a bit hard but we kept going.
Sierra Hopping - It was challenging but fun at the same time. None of the answers were 42 sadly.
Ella Wilford - I liked working with different people and I think we worked well as a team after we got to know each other.
Zeerak Riaz - I was glad it was held at Tauriko School. We can't always win everything we do but I'm glad we got some of the questions right.
Max Dreaneen - It was great to compete against other schools and being able to represent the school.
