Whole School Cross Country

Natalie van Dijk —

On Tuesday the 22nd of May the Year 3 - 8 students participated in our Whole School Cross Country at Waipuna Park.

The weather forecast was not favourable for the day but the sun came out. The students certainly gave it their all and it was so neat to hear everyone cheering for their house groups from the bank.

Here's what a few of the students had to say about our Cross Country at Waipuna Park:

Year 1 and 2

I came second and I felt good. It was lots of fun. Rebecca Thomas

Year 3 and 4

It was fun and I liked going down the hills. I came 3rd in the Year 4 girls. Georgi McGuffie

Year 5 and 6

At first I felt nervous and then when my race started I felt quite energetic. It was nearly the end and I saw the finish line, I got excited. I came 5th place (I had no idea) and I think 5th place was a better place than I thought I had come. Zeerak Riaz

Tall Poppies

I liked running the hills because it was fun. It was more challenging than last year and I came 1st girl in the Tall Poppies. Georgia Barnett

Please see the results below. Congratulations to all the students who placed in the top six runners in their year level. Certificates for the top 6 will be awarded at our next assemblies this term.

The House shield this year was very close and there was only one point between 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Below is the break down of points. But the winner for the Cross Country House Shield for 2018 is...

Kauri House (orange) with 275 points
