Year 3/4: On your marks, get set, GO!

Jo Te Whaiti —

The Year 3/4 team have 'hit the ground running' in 2020 with some great preparation and ground work for a fabulous year of learning.

Rooms 3, 5 & 6 have been super busy in the few first days of school getting to know one another, establishing routines, and putting together classroom treaties to enable us to learn together as a whanau in 2020.

Our teachers this year include Jo Te Whaiti & Sarah Taylor in Room 3, Nicole Johnson in Room 5 and Lynda Palfrey & Ian Woodfield in Room 6. They are all looking forward to working together.

As part of our Inquiry learning we have been looking at Te Tiriti o Waitangi and have used this to inspire our own agreements for learning together effectively in our classes.

We are also lucky to be able to enjoy our school pool on these hot summer days. Our teachers are assessing our skills in the pool so we can work out what our next learning steps are in the water.

In Maths we have been looking at the dispositions we need to be able to grow our brains and think effectively. Everyone is a mathematician! Our teachers are excited to be working with Maree Logan this year, and have already spent some time with her looking at making them even more amazing than they already are!

Whanau will have noticed Seesaw posts popping up lately - we're learning how to use the different functions in the App in order for us to be able to share our learning with those at home. Some classes have all whanau linked in. If you are not linked in yet, please see your classroom teacher for a code.

We will be having assemblies on Friday afternoons at 1.45pm every second week. Watch the Week Ahead emails to see when they are and come along to celebrate our learning with us. We will also be popping a team article in each newsletter so watch this space!
