On Friday the 5th of April, most of the Year 8’s went to Rotorua to learn about leadership.

At the GRIP Leadership day, we learnt that leadership is about people, not position or power.

Another important thing we learned about were the 4 main values of leadership, which spell out the word CORE. This is what each of the letters stand for: Confidence, Others focused, Reliability, Empathy.

Here is some of the feedback from the year 8s:

Ben: “It was great because I learnt a lot about leadership and they had fun games in between each session.”

Charlotte: ¨It was fun because they had lots of exciting games and activities. I also enjoyed going up stage for the hot or not challenge which I won a badge in.”
