Yet again our awesome students have blown us away with their awesome fundraising skills! An interim figure of just over $10,000 has been raised through the Spellathon which is a phenomenal effort!

The tallies are currently being determined as to which were the winning classes and who were those individuals that raised the most within their classes. This year the PTA have introduced a couple of additional rewards including 100% achievement awards for all those that achieved 50/50 in their Spellathon.  Special effort prizes have also been introduced for those who may not have been the top fundraiser in their class, but were getting pretty close.  

A mini prizegiving is going to be held on Friday afternoon to announce the major prize winners.  

All the money raised is going towards the outdoor confidence course that the PTA started fundraising for in 2017. It is expected it will take the remainder of 2018 to raise the funds to take on this project.  

Thank you to all the parents and families for your support with this fundraiser.  We appreciate it isn't an easy ask for many, but for those that were able to be involved, we hope your children have found it challenging and rewarding.   

Annual Tauriko School Quiz Night - tickets on sale 

The Tauriko School Quiz night is a fun adults event that is held annually.  Tickets for this years event are now on sale.  There are great prizes up for grabs, a fun Italian theme and we can guarantee a great atmosphere - so we just need you to help make it a great night! 

When: Saturday 30th June, doors open at 7pm with a 7.30pm start.

Where: Tauriko Hall, next door to school.

Theme: Italian – dress up encouraged (but not compulsory)

Cost: $20 per ticket.

Funds raised towards: building a confidence course for the students of Tauriko School!

So, if this sounds like you, get together your team (teams of 8), book those babysitters and get those thinking caps on for your costume. If you would prefer to not come with a team, no worries – we have tables for couples and individuals to get together and make up teams on the night.

Maths Zone 

Our awesome Maths Committee have kicked into action the planning for the Maths Zone.  Keep an eye out on the display board in the hallway outside Room 1 to see the ideas that are being considered.  New maths equipment in a user-friendly space dedicated to maths is at the top of the minds of the Maths Committee, so we are excited to see develops! 

For those who might be new to Tauriko School, the Maths Zone is a project funded directly from the funds raised through the 2017  Mathathon.  

Tauriko School PTA AGM

The Tauriko School Parents Teachers Association Annual General Meeting is being held next month. If you are interested in joining the PTA, come along and see how things work. It is a great time to join a great bunch of people and be involved with some great events. The PTA is a great way to be involved in the school community and we welcome as much or as little help as you are able to give.

Tuesday 12th June 2018 at 7pm in the Tauriko School Staffroom.
