Matua Riki visits Tauriko School

Jorja Clark and Ella Wilford —

Last term Matua Riki came to Tauriko School to tell the children that do Kapa haka what his moko meant to him and the story it told.

He showed us what each separate design meant and why he had chosen to get them done. He also showed us the other designs on his legs. There were 4 Koro’s which represented his family. Three of them represented his children and the other one represented his wife. His visit was very interesting and gave us lots to think about.
