Paws for Books - Book Week 2018

Jo Te Whaiti —

Next week is Book Week at Tauriko School, with a full week of activities planned throughout the school.

Every year, Tauriko School celebrates books and literacy with a Book Week. This year the theme is 'Paws for Books'.

We have a range of events taking place throughout the week. One of the main events is our Character Parade on Tuesday morning. This is followed by a morning tea for our Grandparents who will then head to class to 'Paws for Books'. On Wednesday afternoon, we have the Tauranga City librarians coming to read at our PTA Milo & Marshmallows evening. On Friday, the School Council will host the PJs & Popcorn sessions in the PAC. There are all sorts of other activities including crafts, writing and competitions so check out the flyer and the weekly email to parents for details.

The Book Fair will be open mornings (8-9am) and afternoons (2-3pm) from Monday morning through to Friday morning. It will also be open during Tuesday's events and while the PTA Milo & Marshmellow event is on.

For those wishing to purchase a book for the school library, you can select a book and pay only half of the cover price. This will then be topped up by our wonderful PTA. Thank you to Jolene and our incredible PTA for this amazing support. It really is a great way to get new texts into our library.
