Argos Gym Visits

Natalie van Dijk —

Last week we went to Argos Gym for our first visit. Thank you to all the parents who offered to help transport students to and from Argos Gym. We couldn't give our students these experiences without your help.

Wee Sprouts:

We were very excited about ARGOS gym and our first visit was great, we all participated enthusiastically. We learned lots of new skills. Bring on Week 2. ðŸ¤—

Here's what some of the Wee Sprouts had to say:

I loved the monkey bars, I did them without any help (Addison)
I went on a big trampoline (Maddison)
I went on the swing thing. It was fun (Stephen)

Year 1 and 2:

The junior team had great fun on Friday for the first session of gymnastics at Argos Gym. Many were nervous as they had never been before but they quickly warmed up and had a great time. The instructors taught us all the basic poses first, some of the poses were quite tricky to hold. We then had a go on some of the different equipment around the room. A lot of us were surprised with what we were able to do. There were many proud faces around the room. We cannot wait until we go again.

This is what our Middle Team had to say about Argos Gym:

At the start I felt a little bit nervous but after I'd done a lot of the things I felt confident and I wasn't nervous anymore. It was pretty fun for most of us. - Neahlana M
I liked it a lot, it was exciting. My favourite part was doing the swinging bars. Sofia L
I enjoyed the obstacle course that there was because it has a lot of things you jump over and it makes you fit. It is very long and you have to do it over and over again. - Rowan E

Year 5 and 6:

The senior school headed down to Argos gym with much excitement. Many of the students could remember the last time we went, which was two years ago. It was great to see them put 100% effort into everything they tried. The teachers did notice that we might need to work on the student's flexibility as quite a few of them struggled to touch their toes. Maybe we could do Yoga as part of our boot camp? ðŸ˜‰

Here's some of things the Year 5 and 6 students enjoyed:

We enjoyed the relays with the gym equipment and the obstacle course - Brooke Barnett and Casey Beach
We enjoyed the big trampoline and the spongy floor - Jack Bishop and Kylah Reid
We enjoyed the swinging rings and the trampoline - Cyrus Morton and Ava Dobbin

Tall Poppies

The Tall Poppies have really enjoyed their time at Argos, fully participating in every activity. They are learning a range of skills, and seem to particularly enjoy the ribbons and the rings. They have great opportunities to use a lot of equipment that we wouldn't normally get to use, such as rings, beams, trampolines, bars and the bouncy floors.
