Year 3 and 4 Camp

Jasmine Mattock —

On the 27th and 28th of February, the Year 3 and 4 students had the fantastic experience of attending school camp.

Our first day was an adventure to the beach where we were hosted by Beach Ed. and the Mount Maunganui Surf Lifesaving team, in their wonderful new clubrooms. We learnt lots about spotting rips and keeping ourselves safe in and around the water. After a full day of learning and fun, we trooped around the Mount to Shelly Beach. Here we completed a photo-scavenger hunt and spotted a penguin and a seal in their natural habitat. Following our beach adventure, we made our way back to school where we camped overnight. We loved our burgers, jelly, and ice cream for dinner. For many, it was their first time camping and staying away from home. It was an exciting experience shared with friends. On Thursday, we packed up camp and had a delicious breakfast, before launching into a full day of Rocky Shore activities.

A massive thank you to the parents who helped make our camp possible. We had many helpers, who joined us for Beach Ed, camping, cooking, tent loaning, tent helpers and all round supporters. Without your help, our camp would not have been possible.
