Room 7 Rain Poetry

Room 7 have enjoyed writing some descriptive poetry inspired by the rain. Listen to Maia, Cooper and Merida as they share their stunning poems.
Room 7 has started to explore poetry this week.
We discussed how description in poems is crucial. Good description is essentially a question of mentioning the right things, and we have been encouraging our students to jot down what they can see, hear, feel, smell and even taste.
With so much rain this week, it felt like the perfect topic to observe and write about. Room 7 focused on activating their nouns by including adjectives, their senses and a question at the end. It is clear that when they are close observers, their poetry gives a powerful picture in words.
Mrs Taylor and Mrs Fraser were thrilled with the results and the hard mahi that the Room 7 students put in.
