Late in Term 1 the Tall Poppies competed in the Cluster Swimming Sports.

In Term 1 the Tall Poppies had a choice of competing in Tall Poppy Competitive Swimming Sports. There was a group of nine who attended. (The rest of the class went to the non-competitive event.)

On Friday the 29th of March the tall poppy competitive swimmers we got put into groups and travelled to the Greerton Aquatic Centre. When we got there the whole grand stands were full of students from other schools.

We could enter in multiple races eg backstroke 25m, 50m, 100m freestyle 25m, 50m, 100m breaststroke 25m, 50m, 100m, butterfly 25m, 50m.

Our school got lots of good results. The girls got 3rd in their relay. The boys got 4th and in the grand relay we got 4th. We got lots of 1st, 2nd, 3rd results in our heat. We are very proud of everyone who competed.

After we got dressed they announced all the kids that are going to the next stage. Georgia Barnett got through to the BOP Competition for 50m backstroke and competed in the Cluster Relay.
