Monday the 5th of November saw Tauriko School hold their first ever Whole School Athletics at the Tauranga Domain.

The sun was shining, the wind was blowing and the students were all dressed up in their house colours. It was great to start our athletics day with our house chants up in the grandstand. 

It was great to see the students participating in a range of different events and them encouraging each other as they gave things a go. The students participated in 6 different events during the day: Cricket Ball Throw, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus, High Jump and Sprints and our top place getters in each event will be awarded house points. Certificates will be presented to our top three place getters in each event at our next assembly and results will be published in our next newsletter.

I enjoyed the high jump (Madison, Room 13) 
I liked sprints, high jump and long jump (Yumin, Room 14) 
I enjoyed high jump (Jack, Room 15) 
I liked it because I got to use up my energy (Josh, Room 5)
